First Grandchild

Tuesday the 15th of April, I got up and cleaned the house, ground two buckets of wheat, made a loaf of bread, and went shopping. At the store Kyle called and said they were at the hospital and that Jenny's water broke and that I would soon be a grandma. Feeling like I had been preparing all day, I decided to jump in the van and go to Provo, to see if I could get there before the birth. (I had planned to go up in a week to get Karrae and Todd from school, so I would now help with the baby for a week and then bring the kids home.) Well two hours later, I was packed and had arrangements made for the other kids and was on my way to Provo. I stopped at my Mom's in Cedar City for some dinner, and continued on my way. About two hours out of Provo, Kyle called and said that she was here, Eliza Nicole Brunner, was born at 8:5something pm. Jenny was doing fine and the baby was great. She was 5 lb. 5oz and was 3 weeks and 3 days early. The three days put her in the premie category and so she had a couple of special needs to take care of. It was so exciting to get the news and hear that all went well. I was so grateful. She is a beautiful little - very little - girl . I enjoyed getting to help take care of her for a week. We look forward to seeing her more this summer and watching her grow. Grandpa got to go up this weekend, April 27, to go see Eliza, and take Karrae and Skyler back to school.
